For all stakeholders in the chemical sector: how is waste management carried out at an educational and professional level? Can you tell us about best practices that you have experienced?

In chemical education and industry, waste is separated, labeled, stored safely, and disposed of properly, following basic environmental and safety regulations. Some of the coolest practices are acid–base titrations with indicators that change color.

@natalia Very interesting, but do you know what they do with the chemical waste from the laboratory? How is it recycled/treated?

Waste management in the chemical sector is very important in both education and professional work. In schools and universities, students learn to separate different types of chemical waste and to use clear labels and color-coded containers.(HCl) must go into a labelled acid- waste container not in the sink or trash.A trained person will collect and neutralize it safely.

Plastic laboratory waste is sorted, cleaned, melted, reprocessed, reused, chemically recycled, or safely disposed following environmental regulations.

As a laboratory technician intern at Iberfoil, I have seen that aluminum waste management is approached with strong technical and environmental awareness.

In education, we are trained to segregate aluminum residues properly and understand recycling protocols.
